As a part time Occupational Therapist for Sturgis Hospital’s Rehabilitation Department, you will evaluate and develop rehabilitation goals to increase self-care and instrumental activities of daily living for inpatients and outpatients with identified mental, developmental, or physical disabilities.  

 

Schedule: This part time position is scheduled to work 20 hours a week.

About the Facility:  Sturgis Hospital is a 84-bed licensed, acute care facility.  Nearly 40 active medical staff members, available within the Sturgis and surrounding communities, represent a wide variety of specialties including Anesthesiology, Family Practice, General Surgery, Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Radiology, Urology and Vascular Surgery.  Additional specialties are offered through the Hospital’s Courtesy, Consulting and Affiliate Medical Staff. These services include Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, and Pulmonary medicine.  Sturgis, Michigan is centrally located between Chicago, IL and Toledo, OH (both roughly 2 hours), and between Lake Michigan and Lake Erie.

About the Rehab Department:  Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:00am-6:30pm, Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm, and weekends on a patient need basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Patient evaluations
  • Communicate with patients, families and medical team members
  • Establish goals to enhance independence with daily living

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • Michigan Occupational Therapist license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • 1+ years of acute care and outpatient experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $34.23 to $61.15 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
